As of February 12, 2010, the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) is sending dealer license renewal notices to auto independent, wholesale, auction and salvage dealers via email, rather than through the US Postal Service. By communicating with license holders by email, the DHSMV will save approximately $5,000 in taxpayer money over the renewal period.

If you are a Florida dealer and you do not have an email address, you are encouraged to obtain one in order to receive communication from the DHSMV. There are many free email services available. If you have an email address on file with the DHSMV and have not received your renewal packet, please contact your local DHSMV Regional Office to obtain an application and update your email address.
