for Wreckers on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 by Beth Williams

Congratulations to Tom Drake, named ADD’s national Towing Services Manager.

Tom joined ADD in 2008 with the primary responsibility of assisting the Florida-based company in expanding its extensive tow industry service into Texas and throughout the nation.

“Tom is a vitally important part of the ADD team,” said Jim Taylor, President. “Under his leadership our tow services have grown significantly and while the majority of our tow and wrecker operator customers are based in Florida and Texas, we now have members of that industry using our services nationwide.”

In his role, Tom works closely with individual companies, tow associations, state regulatory agencies, and county governments to develop industry solutions unique to their jurisdiction. Tom and the tow services team at ADD are continuously looking at ways to improve services and aide in compliance with the many local, state, and federal requirements facing the tow industry.

“We are blessed to have a very creative and customer focused support team for this important industry,” said Drake. “Our goal is always to provide web-based solutions that can be used by the tow industry to make business operations more efficient in the most cost-effective manner possible.”

As Towing Services Manager, Drake will oversee ADD services specifically designed for tow and wrecker operators including:

  • DirectPost-Office , a web-based system that allows the business to electronically deliver Notification of Claim of Lien Letters and other documents required by the jurisdiction to the post office, track the delivery of the letters and print delivery detail, add forms such as a storage lien for VSF’s to their packet of letters, and print paperwork to take to their local Tax Assessor-Collector’s office.
  • DMV123 provides real-time access to 32 jurisdictional databases, so that towing and storage businesses can accurately and efficiently identify the owner and lien holder in order to comply with notification requirements in a timely manner.
  • National Motor Vehicle Title Information System (NMVTIS) Junk, Salvage, and Insurance Reporting allows towing and storage operators to easily comply with federal requirements to report junk and salvage vehicles to the NMVTIS database and archives those reports for compliance verification.
