Dealer & ELT FAQs
for Auto Dealers and Financial on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 by B. Barrett, A. MaysMy deal fell through, how can I void the temp tag/tag transfer it in the
system?
Temp tags can only be voided the same day they are issued before midnight. After midnight on the day of issuance, the dealer should contact the DMV to void a tag.
Temporary tag transfers can be voided at any time.
To void a temporary tag before midnight on the day of issuance or a metal plate transfer, go to your ADDTag tab, locate the tag number in your Tag Archive , click on the tag number and select the “Void Temp Tag” button for temp tags or “Restore Plate to Previous Vehicle” for tag transfers.
How many tags can my dealership issue per vehicle?
Each vehicle may have up to four temp tags or tag transfers, though you may only issue two tags to the same registrant on the same vehicle. After either limit has been reached, you must go to the DMV or your local tag office and they will be able to assist you.
How do I release a lien on the ADD website?
To release a lien on an ELT vehicle in your ADD account, go to your ELT tab and locate the vehicle for which you would like to release a lien. Click on the gear icon that appears to the right of your ELT record and a menu of options will appear. You may select “ Satisfy Lien ” or “ Satisfy Lien and Convert to Paper ”. By selecting “ Satisfy Lien ”, you will satisfy the lien while the title will remain electronic. By selecting “ Satisfy Lien and Convert to Paper ”, the lien will be satisfied and the title will be mailed to the address provided. You may change the mailing address if necessary.
How long do I have to wait until I receive the paper title after
requesting one through my ADD ELT portal?
When you convert your ELT to paper in the ADD system you have the option to either pick up the title at the tag office or receive it by mail. By selecting the “ Pick Up Title ” option, the paper title can be retrieved by the lienholder only from the tag office after four business days. By selecting the “ Print and Mail Title ” option, the paper title will be mailed by the DMV to the specified address and will arrive in seven to ten business days.
What does “Expedite Processing” in my ELT options mean?
When you perform an action in your ELT manifest before 2:00 pm, you will see the option to “ Expedite Processing ” for an additional fee of $2.50. Ordinarily, requests are sent to the DMV by way of batch file at 10:00 pm. If you choose the Expedite Option, the request will be sent in a 2:00 pm batch file.
