What's that barcode on my DMV123 record?

on Thursday, January 17, 2013 by Auto Data Direct

On Monday January 14, 2013, ADD launched a motor vehicle record verification system for government entities. Now, ADD users will see a barcode in the upper right corner of printed DMV123 records (the barcode won’t be visible on the on-screen record).

ADD created the record verification process to help tax collectors and other government entities verify the authenticity of out-of-state records presented by ADD customers.

As DMV123 state inquiry offerings have grown to 28 states, ADD wanted to assure the government entities who receive the record printouts from ADD users that the records are valid state records pulled in real time from state DMVs.

Now, tax collectors can either scan the barcode or visit verify.add123.com and enter a verification code on the record printout to verify the date and time that an out-of-state record was pulled, as well as the state DMV that provided the record and the name of the business that accessed the record. The record verification code and scannable bar code will appear only on printed records.

ADD corporate users DO NOT need to visit verify.add123.com to verify their own records. The new website is for use by tax collectors and other government entities wishing to verify out-of-state records.
