California has passed a law that will require all auto dealers licensed in the state of California to obtain a National Motor Vehicle Title Information System (NMVTIS) vehicle history report for every used vehicle offered for retail sale. The law, which goes into effect in July 2012, also requires dealers to affix a NMVTIS warning sticker to the vehicle if the NMVTIS vehicle history report indicates that the vehicle has a title brand or a junk or salvage history.
ADD has been an approved provider of NMVTIS Vehicle History Reports since 2009, and offers all dealers nationwide access to NMVTIS vehicle history reports as well as pre-printed warning stickers that meet the California dealer regulations.
