Theft and Lien Data Now Part of National Title Pointer

on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 by Auto Data Direct

ADD is pleased to announce the re-design of its National Title Pointer Report. Title Pointer reports contain data from the National Motor Vehicle Title Information System (NMVTIS), and can be helpful for businesses that need to locate the current state of title for a vehicle. Respondents to our customer survey told us what additional information would be helpful in the report, and we listened!

The first improvement we made to the National Title Pointer was a report re- design. Before, the corporate report looked exactly like the consumer report, but our users told us that businesses don’t need a four-page, full color report. Based on that feedback, we condensed the information to a single screen, which will also reduce the amount of paper required to print the report. For those who like the long-form report, the detailed consumer report is still available through the Open Consumer Vehicle History Report link, but the condensed version is what corporate customers will see by default.

The other big change is the addition of theft and lien data to the National Title Pointer. You told us that you need stolen data, and you need to know if there’s a lien on a vehicle. Now corporate customers will see national stolen vehicle data and the name of the lienholder, if available.

Best of all, the new format and additional information is included in the National Title Pointer at no additional cost.

ADD would like to thank all of the users who participated in ADD’s Vehicle History/Title Pointer survey. ADD received lots of great feedback, and we hope the re-designed National Title Pointer will better meet the needs of our customers.
