Auto Data Direct has been diligently working on the Florida Electronic Temporary Registration (ETR) modernization in order to offer our customers the latest in dealer services. The migration to the new system has begun with a pilot phase, with feedback from participating customers already rolling in. Dino Mercurio with Prime Autos in West Palm Beach, Florida reports back, “I have used Auto Data Direct as my ETR vendor since the inception of the program, and I have nothing but great things to say about them! Recently the Department of Justice issued a memo stressing the importance of affected businesses reporting salvage vehicles to NMVTIS with emphasis on the fact that many new flood-damaged vehicles have been generated because of the recent events across the country. Auctions have been overrun with flood vehicles, due to the large volume of vehicles affected, and these vehicles are often sent to locations that can handle the overflow of vehicles. In many instances this will be in states other than the state where the flood occurred. This is a prime example of why NMVTIS is so important to both salvage buyers and consumers. Because of the differences in reporting requirements and title brands by state, these flooded vehicles may be sold or titled without any notice of the flood events.

In December, ADD announced that since becoming the first authorized provider of National Motor Vehicle Title Information System (NMVTIS) vehicle reports in 2009, it has sold more than 2 million records to business customers and consumers. “The significance of the number of records sold relates directly to the importance of the NMVTIS database in preventing automobile fraud and protecting consumers,” said Jim Taylor, ADD President. “With the database now containing nearly 96% of all titled vehicles in the nation, it is a simple, affordable way to help ensure that a vehicle purchase is a smart decision. Consumers and businesses are seeing the value of this national resource.”

Auto Data Direct would like to formally introduce and welcome AutoManager, its newest partner for electronic temporary registration (ETR). AutoManager is the developer of the DeskManager DMS software and the automotive marketing and website building platform, also known as WebManager. Through this new integration, dealers can now order and administer temporary tags all within DeskManager.

ADD has put together a list of the most useful tips and tricks to make using our site even better! _Passwords and Logging in _ Usernames and passwords are case-sensitive. Every employee accessing the account must have their own login information. The Contact User can add as many users as desired at no additional cost. When a password is reset through your email, it will often find its way into your ‘junk’ or ‘spam’ folders. Passwords expire every 180 days. For your security, ADD cannot see your password. If you need your password reset, you can request a new one by using the email address we have on file or call one of our friendly Customer Service reps during business hours. _TempTags _

ADD’s DirectPost-Office (DPO) is a tow operator’s best friend. This innovative tool makes creating and mailing those required notifications as easy as 1,2,3! And you know what makes it even better? DMV123 state record inquiries, that’s what! DMV123 is a tool for DPO that allows ADD’s valued customers to retrieve real- time motor vehicle records from over two-thirds of the jurisdictions in the country. Once the state of title is identified, getting the most recent record is a simple matter of going to the DMV123 drop down box in your account, clicking on the appropriate jurisdiction, entering the VIN and within seconds, your record is accessed. Vehicle data is easily merged into the form needed for that particular transaction and in moments is ready to mail electronically.

The DOJ recently provided ADD with the attached notice that was issued last November by DOJ for Reporting Entities regarding the importance of their timely reporting of junk salvage and insurance (total loss) vehicles. The notice is both a reminder about the reporting obligations and encouragement for timely reporting as a result of unusual flooding events. With the recent flooding in the Midwest, NMVTIS reporting is more important than ever.
