New Record Verification Process for Texas Tax Assessor-Collectors
for Wreckers on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 by Tom DrakeOn Monday August 27, 2012, ADD will launch a new motor vehicle record verification system for Texas Tax Assessor-Collectors.
ADD has created the record verification process to help address Tax Assessor- Collector questions about the authenticity of out-of-state records accessed by Texas tow operators and VSFs through ADD’s DMV123 state record search.
The website, verify.add123.com will allow Tax Assessor-Collectors to scan or enter a verification code on the record printout and verify the date and time that an out of state record was pulled, the state DMV that provided the record and the name of the business that accessed the record. The record verification code and scannable bar code will appear in the top right hand corner of printed records.
Texas tow operators and VSFs do not need to visit verify.add123.com to verify their own records. The new website is for use by Tax Assessor- Collectors and county clerks wishing to verify out-of-state records presented with the DirectPost-Office certified notification letter packets.
How will this change affect you?
The new verification process will not affect your motor vehicle record search or certified notification process. The only change you should notice is a new bar code in the top right corner of the printed record.
Why was this change made?
ADD is committed to making the towing notification process as easy as possible for its users. In an effort to address questions from Tax Assessor-Collectors and county clerks regarding the authenticity of out-of-state records, ADD has created a way for the clerks to verify the date, state of record, the date and time, and the name of the company that pulled the record. No personal or protected corporate information is disclosed during the verification process.
Do you need to verify your records at verify.add123.com?
No. The new website is for use by Tax Assessor Collectors and county clerks wishing to verify records accessed by tow operators and VSFs.
