As of September 1st, our ADDTag customers have a new, modern look for issuing temporary tags, transferring temporary tags, and managing temporary tag stock. The new ADDTag also gives dealers access to the Electronic Filing System, a convenient way to save dealers time by allowing them to skip a trip down to the DMV to issue permanent metal plates and transfer permanent metal plates.
What is ETR?
The Electronic Temporary Registration system is the DMV system that allows dealers to electronically issue temporary tags and report offline issuances.
What is EFS and how do I sign up for it?
The Electronic Filing System gives dealers the ability to submit title, registration and lien recordings electronically to the tax collector and issue permanent metal plates or perform metal plate transfers at point of sale. How do I start an issuance?
On the left side of your screen click the green +NEW button. Click the dropdown menu next to “Issuance Type” to be able to choose Print on Demand, Temporary Transfer, or Offline Issuance. If you are an EFS dealer, you may also start your Permanent Title/Registration issuance from here.
How do I order tags?
Find the green +NEW button and follow the buttons to right where you can see the “Temp Tag Stock” button. On the right side of your screen you will see “Temp Tag Stock Management” where you can activate tags, order new tags, and view your inventory of currently active temporary tags.
Can I still use my old temporary tags with the new system?
Yes! All your current Auto Data Direct-provided temporary tags will work with the new system.
Where is my tag archive?
Your tag archive is now called the “manifest” and will be filled with your issuances as you complete them. All of your in-progress issuances will appear here as well.
What if I need to restore a plate in the old system?
