Dealer Title Check Reports

NMVTIS Title Check Reports

The National Motor Vehicle Title Information System (NMVTIS) is a federal database containing automobile information from states, insurance carriers and the salvage industry. Auto Data Direct is an Approved NMVTIS Data Provider.

Auto Data Direct (ADD) is an official NMVTIS Title Check Report provider. ADD’s title check reports provide information from a vehicle’s current title, including the vehicle’s brand history, title history, and any reported odometer readings. NMVTIS title reports will also indicate if a vehicle has been reported as “salvage” or a total loss by an insurance company or a self- insuring organization, and lists reports from auto recyclers who may have handled the vehicle.

Auto Dealers

ADD’s consumer NMVTIS report format is designed to provide easy-to-understand NMVTIS information to potential buyers in an attractive, multi-page format. No subscription is required to purchase NMVTIS title check reports through ADD; however, corporate entities may wish to establish an ADD account to retrieve NMVTIS title check reports at a reduced, volume-based rate.

California requires its auto dealers to obtain a NMVTIS title check report for every used vehicle that will be offered for retail sale. Visit ADD’s California Dealer page for more information.

Sample Reports

NMVTIS is intended to serve as a source of title and brand history for automobiles, but it does not contain owner or lien holder information or detailed information regarding a vehicle ’s repair history.
